Eclipse MicroPen™

micropen

The Eclipse MicroPen™ is a state-of-the-art, automated micro-needling device that can be used for both anti-aging treatment and hair restoration. This revolutionary technology allows us to treat patients more efficiently and comfortably, and with generally shorter treatment times compared to traditional lasers and dermal needle rollers. Our experienced plastic surgeon, Dr. Semira Bayati, offers this advanced new technique right here at our Newport Beach practice.

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) can improve the appearance of acne scars, wrinkles, fine lines, and the overall texture and tone of your skin. This innovative Eclipse MicroPen™ treatment is designed to stimulate collagen and elastin regeneration in the skin, working to create a more youthful, smoother appearance.

During CIT, The Eclipse MicroPen™ will gently press against the skin in the desired treatment areas. The procedure has been compared to sandpaper gently rubbing against the skin. Treatment can take about 15 to 30 minutes. After the procedure, the skin may appear red, but this typically subsides in a few days. You should begin noticing a healthier glow to the skin, and full results can continue to develop over the next several weeks. Some patients experience optimal results with one treatment per year. However, multiple treatments can maximize benefits.

Hair Restoration

When used with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), the Eclipse MicroPen™ can stimulate a renewed blood supply and proper nutrients to deprived hair follicles, which can work to restore the hair growth process. The renewed growth helps to fill in areas of receding or thinning hair. PRP is a natural serum derived directly from your own cells to initiate regeneration. The Eclipse MicroPen™ allows us to get a deeper penetration of PRP infused into the skin, amplifying our hair restoration abilities.

A numbing agent can be applied to the desired treatment area to maximize patient comfort. The scalp may be tender for up to 24 hours after treatment, but this should quickly subside. One treatment per month for up to three months is typically required for optimal results, and long-lasting results can be maintained with follow-up treatments every 6 to 12 months.
