Excess skin under the arms is an unsightly and rather common problem. It can result from the changes of skin due to aging or from weight loss. Regardless, liposuction alone will not address this problem. The excess skin can be excised through a well-hidden incision that extends from the axilla to the elbow under the arm. This incision fades nicely over the following year with proper care and occasional laser fading.

Sometimes when there is excessive fat in combination with the extra skin, it is necessary to perform liposuction separately or in combination with this procedure.
Most people combine this operation with other skin reduction surgeries. You can expect to return to work after this surgery in one week. However a discreet compression garment will be worn under your clothes for a couple of weeks to keep swelling down and help with healing.
